Known as the oldest distilled spirit in Japan, Ryukyu Awamori has been widely loved in Japan, inheriting its unique culture and flavour, including a series of manual techniques and a production process deeply connected with the climate, nature and climate. While the Agency for Cultural Affairs has proposed that Ryukyu Awamori be included in UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list along with sake and shochu as one of Japan's 'traditional sake brewing', it has not gained the same global recognition as sake and Japanese whisky and still has great potential for sales in overseas markets.
